About Uttoxeter Horse Racing Course
Uttoxeter Racecourse is a National Hunt racecourse in the town of Uttoxeter, in Staffordshire, England.
The course has a circumference of around one mile and two furlongs (one and a quarter miles) and is a left-handed oval with an unusual right-handed kink in the middle of the back straight.
Although National Hunt racing is traditionally a winter sport, Uttoxeter stages a year-round programme of racing. Among its most valuable races are two major long-distance chases: the Midlands Grand National, staged in late March, and the Summer National, staged in the first week of July. Both these races are over four miles in length. Uttoxeter Racecourse has also acted for the location of the Christian youth event NewDay , run by Newfrontiers, for 2006 and 2007, and is planned to be used for the event also in 2008.
